“Indeed, Allah loves high matters and nobility, and He hates lowly matters.”

Yusuf Abu Islam – Blessed Palestine

People vary in their wishes and aspirations, depending on the level of their thinking, the purity of their ideas, and their awareness. Some people’s thoughts and wishes do not go beyond the surrounding environment, and when they wish for something or ask for something, they only ask for what their shallow and simple thinking suggests. The authors of prophetic biography narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once stayed with a Bedouin, who honoured him. The Prophet (peace be upon him) wanted to reward him and said, “Ask me for anything you need.” The Bedouin said, “O Messenger of Allah, I want a camel with a load on it, and an udder to milk it.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) repeated this twice, and then said to him, “Are you satisfied with being like an old man from the Children of Israel?” The Bedouin only asked for what he needed to sustain his living, according to his simple thinking. However, the Prophet (peace be upon him) wants us to aspire to higher goals and aspirations.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, ”  إنَّ اللهَ تعالى يُحِبُّ مَعاليَ الأُمورِ، وأَشرافَها، ويَكرَهُ سَفْسافَها [1]صحيح الجامعIndeed, Allah loves high matters and nobility, and He hates lowly matters.” Those who have awareness and understanding should strive to achieve noble and high aspirations.

Those who possess the awareness and pure thoughts are those who direct their gaze towards noble goals. They are not shortsighted, nor are they silenced by simple divinities and selfish immediate gains. They do not compete for a feeble authority that stands on a piece of land without true freedom or sovereignty. This was the case with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) when his people offered him a kingdom devoid of the call to “there is no god but Allah,” but he refused. They offered him to be the richest man, but he refused. They offered him to marry the most beautiful of women, but he refused. His gaze was directed towards Persia and Rome so that he would be the master of the universe with what Islam holds of the religion of mercy for all people. Meanwhile, the disbelievers of Mecca were bargaining with him for the local authority, huge sums of money, unaware that he was in one valley and they were in another.

Thus, the companions of the Prophet were raised to have their aspirations towards the glory and sovereignty of Islam. Therefore, some of the companions, when they heard the Prophet speaking to them about the future of Islam and how this religion would appear over all other religions, whenever they heard such prophetic good tidings, they would ask the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) for what befits their aspirations, because they were convinced that the promise of God and the glad tidings of His Messenger would inevitably come true no matter how difficult the reality may be or speak otherwise. Their aspirations were high and they would strive with all their might to achieve the promise of God and the glad tidings of His Messenger with aspirations that could move mountains and soar above the clouds. It is mentioned in the Book of Wealth by Abu Ubaid that Tameem Al-Dari said, “O Messenger of Allah, Allah has made you manifest over the entire earth, so give me my village of Beit Lahm.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “It is yours,” and he wrote it for him.

Qais ibn Abi Hazim reported from Adi ibn Hatim who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “I was shown the confusion (or perplexity) in the form of the teeth of dogs, and you will certainly open it.” Then, a man stood up and said, “O Messenger of Allah, give me the daughter of Baki’ah tribe in marriage.” He replied, “She is for you.” This incident took place in the fifth year of Hijrah. The man who asked for the daughter of Baki’ah was one of the common Muslims, who asked for her based on his belief in the validity of what he heard from the Prophet, and he was certain that he would get her as the Prophet had informed him and given her to him. At that time, the hypocrites in Medina were mocking the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, for his promise of conquering Persia and Rome, and they were spreading doubt and disappointment among the believers. They were also denying the promise of Allah and His Messenger regarding the conquest. Allah says, “And when a faction of them said, ‘وَإِذۡ قَالَت طَّآئِفَةٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ يَٰٓأَهۡلَ يَثۡرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمۡ فَٱرۡجِعُواْۚ O people of Yathrib, there is no stability for you [here], so return [home].'” (Quran 33:13) The hypocrites were ridiculing the idea of conquest and make fun of it, saying that the Prophet claims to see the palaces of the Persian king and the cities of the Roman Empire while they were digging a trench and unable to even advance. And when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease said, ‘Allah and His Messenger did not promise us except delusion.'” (Quran 33:12) They were inciting the people of Medina to abandon the ranks of the believers and return to their homes, claiming that their homes were vulnerable. However, Allah exposed their falsehood in His saying, “And a party of them ask permission of the Prophet, saying, ‘  وَيَسۡتَ‍ٔۡذِنُ فَرِيقٞ مِّنۡهُمُ ٱلنَّبِيَّ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّ بُيُوتَنَا عَوۡرَةٞ وَمَا هِيَ بِعَوۡرَةٍۖ إِن يُرِيدُونَ إِلَّا فِرَارٗا Indeed, our houses are unprotected,’ while they were not exposed. They did not intend except to flee.” (Quran 33:13)

And it was only a few years before ten had passed, and Khalid bin Al-Walid was writing a book of safety for the people of Al-Hira. Amr bin Abdul-Masih ibn Baqilah approached him and urged him to make peace with them. Khalid agreed and wrote a peace treaty for them, taking four hundred thousand dirhams from them immediately. He did not consider the peace treaty to be valid until they handed over “Karama” bint Abdul-Masih to a companion named “Shu’ayl”. This was because when the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, mentioned the castles of Al-Hira, this man had asked the Messenger of Allah to give him the daughter of Amr bin Abdul-Masih as a gift. The Messenger of Allah gave her to him before the conquest was realized, and two companions testified to that. They refused to hand her over to him at first but eventually did. When he was alone with her, she took her own life with the money he had given her. My brothers, let us look at the high aspirations and certainties that this man possessed. He requested something, was confident in obtaining it, believed in the truth of what the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, that the daughter of Baqilah was certainly his, the informant was truthful, the giver was generous, and the promise was true. Meanwhile, the hypocrites were mocking the believers and the Prophet, peace be upon him, was informing them that he saw the castles of Al-Hira and the palaces of Khosrow. If Caesar dies, there will be no Caesar after him, and if Khosrow dies, there will be no Khosrow after him. I swear by the One in Whose Hand is my soul, their treasures will be spent in the cause of Allah.” They were digging trenches and unable to fulfil their needs.

O brothers, we are still waiting for the fulfilment of those promises and the divine promise of the return of the Caliphate, the liberation of Jerusalem, and the opening of Rome as Constantinople was opened. This requires us to have faith that the promise of Allah and the glad tidings of His Messenger will undoubtedly be fulfilled and that our aspirations should be in line with this sincere promise. Just as our noble Messenger, peace be upon him, instilled hope in the hearts of Muslims and elevated them to high positions, it is now the duty of the call to Islam and the scholars of the nation to perform the same role that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, played. They must undertake this mission, sow hope in it, charge it with the power of belief, certainty, high aspirations, and advancement towards noble pursuits, and distance themselves from lowly ones so that Muslims will be driven to achieve the promise of Allah and the glad tidings of the Messenger, peace be upon him. At that time, the nation will be saved by its scholars and the call to Islam, just as it was in the days of the Tatars when the scholars refused to surrender, grovel, or be content with lowly affairs, and the nation followed them until Allah appointed those who led the armies. Then Qutuz, may Allah have mercy on him, appeared, who defeated the Tatars at Ain Jalut, purified the land from their filth, and revived the nation after it was almost destroyed.

Today, the scholars of the nation must not be subservient to the sultans or chase after the trifles of rulers. Instead, they should carry the project of saving the nation from despair, restore hope in it, sow in it the qualities of advancement towards noble pursuits and positions, and rise to it. They should address the armies and the powerful until the call and the power are combined, and the matter is ready to announce the Caliphate anew.

It is necessary to eliminate the voices of hypocrisy and betrayal that the hypocrites and slanderers, the owners of nonsense, spread in the nation until it becomes tranquil, humiliated, and satisfied with this humiliating reality and the defeatist solutions to the issues of the nation, including the issue of Palestine. You see them calling for international protection, a two-state solution, and other similar solution while neglecting the fundamental solution of mobilizing armies to perform the duty of liberation. But these solutions will never find their way into the nation as long as there are sincere scholars and truthful advocates who revive the spirit of determination and elevate it towards the noblest of matters, reminding it of the true promise of Allah and the good news of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.

The one who promised the companions victory and the defeat of the Persians and the Romans is the same one who promised us victory and the liberation of Jerusalem, and the one who promised us the conquest of Rome, and the one who promised us the rule over all the land from its eastern to western borders. So, whoever says that we cannot face America, Russia, and the Jews, we say to him: The hypocrites said the same thing during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and the Quran mentioned them, saying: “And [remember, O believers], when a faction of them said, “وَإِذۡ قَالَت طَّآئِفَةٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ يَٰٓأَهۡلَ يَثۡرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمۡ فَٱرۡجِعُواْۚ وَيَسۡتَ‍ٔۡذِنُ فَرِيقٞ مِّنۡهُمُ ٱلنَّبِيَّ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّ بُيُوتَنَا عَوۡرَةٞ وَمَا هِيَ بِعَوۡرَةٍۖ إِن يُرِيدُونَ إِلَّا فِرَارٗا O people of Yathrib [i.e., Medina], there is no stability for you [here], so return [home].” And a party of them asked permission from the Prophet, saying, “Indeed, our houses are unprotected,” while they were not exposed. They did not intend except to flee. (Quran 33:13). However, it was only a matter of time until Allah’s promise was fulfilled as He promised. The Persian state ended in the Battle of Qadisiyah, and the Roman state ended in the Battle of Yarmouk. You can imagine, brothers, how many days passed between these two defeats of the greatest states of that time. Only thirty-eight days between the wars. It is a fantastic time for a small newborn state to win over great states like Persia and Rome!!! The Battle of Qadisiyah was one of the battles of the Islamic conquest of Persia that took place on the 13th of Sha’ban in the year 15 AH, while the Battle of Yarmouk between the Roman state and the Muslims was in 5 Rajab in the year 15 AH.

Oh, brothers, we are certain that victory is coming no matter how long the ordeal may last. We will not be satisfied until we conquer Rome, that is, conquer Europe, and we will not be satisfied until we rule the land that was once ruled by the Prophet, peace be upon him, which means ruling America, China, Europe, and Russia. Our true religion and firm belief lead us to believe with certainty that victory will be achieved soon with the permission of Allah. So raise your demands and do not settle for less than ruling all the earth… Do not say that we cannot, do not say that we pray, fast, perform Hajj, give charity, raise our children, and that’s enough. Rather, say that we are the nation of Muhammad, peace be upon him, that has not died and we will remain witnesses over people no matter what the cost until the promise of Allah is fulfilled. Let the Islamic nation know that Allah has chosen it to lead the world with Islam and justice. Do not lose your testimony over people, and do not look at trivial matters, the debris of this world, and its lusts. Whoever does not know his value in the sight of Allah and is not convinced of victory and the fulfilment of the promise is not fit to lead people. So, be sincere in your work for Allah, and do not be deceived by the owners of positions and chairs who have become lowly in their aspirations and visions, and they only see defeatist solutions and Western ideas. The person with high aspirations is the one who desires and makes efforts to achieve what he wants and does not settle for mere wishes while sitting at home or with his companions. Indeed, wishes that are not accompanied by taking action are useless to their owner, and they are “the capital of the bankrupt.” And whoever desires the Hereafter and exerts the effort due to it while he is a believer, then such are their deeds that are appreciated.” (Quran 17:19).

Likewise, people with high aspirations and noble souls are known through their interests and their dissatisfaction with worldly matters. This is exemplified by Rabi’ah bin Ka’b Al-Aslami – may Allah be pleased with him – who asked the Prophet – peace be upon him – to grant him a wish and the Prophet asked him what he wanted, to which he replied, “I ask for your companionship in Paradise.” He did not ask for any of the fleeting pleasures of this world, due to the greatness of his aspirations, the nobility of his soul, and his dissatisfaction with anything less than the highest ideals.

And here are the people of the second Pledge of Aqaba, when they agreed to support the Prophet despite the sacrifices it would entail in terms of wealth, family, and children. They asked the Prophet what they would get in return for their loyalty, and he told them that they would be rewarded with Paradise. They replied, “We are pleased, O Messenger of Allah.” Look at the state of these great men who realized the value of Paradise, which is precious enough to sacrifice one’s life, wealth, and family for the sake of obtaining it.

O Muslims, bearers of the message of Islam to humanity, our deliverance from humiliation, disgrace, and degradation can only be achieved through raising our vision, elevating our aspirations, and working diligently to achieve victory and empowerment by upholding the word of truth and religion and working with sincere workers to establish this religion and pledge allegiance to the Amir al-Mu’mineen in accordance with the path of prophethood.

We ask Allah for victory and empowerment, and we seek His guidance in the noblest of matters, and we seek refuge in Him from the base and the despicable. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.
